Week 8 assignments

I want to add to my blog how important that we stay educated and current in our field and to be able to have a great impact on our children and their families. According to Renatta M. Cooper, 2012 she stated as a educator it vital that we stay current and continue to educate our self to be effective in early childhood.

NAEYC & DEC Ideals:

1. To be familiar with the knowledge base of early
childhood care and education and to stay informed
through continuing education and training.

I think this is vital  According to Renatta M. Cooper, 2012 she stated as a educator it vital that we stay current and continue to educate our self to be effective in early childhood. This true because if we our going to have a significant impact on children and their families we need to make sure we stay current attending lots of workshops, reading  and  attending training it is key for our success

2. To develop relationships of mutual trust and
create partnerships with the families we serve.

I believe if families have a mutual relationship with the teacher we will see more children excel in our programs. Parent are ready to be involve , this is just my personal opinion I don't see the teachers connecting to the families like that should. I always had a  mutual relationships with my parents and it has cause some of my children to do better in school and with their work.

 3. To welcome all family members and encourage
them to participate in the program.
This is another point that stood out to me. We have to make sure as educators we are reaching out to our parents and encouraging them to get involved and one way I found out how to get my parents involved is through workshops and new letters is a great opportunity.
4. To advocate for and ensure that all children, including those with special needs, have access to the support services needed to be successful.
This one is very needed in our field of early childhood many time children with special needs our over look and I believe that all children need to be treated with respect regardless of their disability. Every child learn at his/ her pace and we need that advocate to be that voice for our children and to make sure they get the proper resources to make sure they succeed.
