Web Sharing Continues in week 6
Temiak Mccann
I am continuing my research into the The World Vision Organization’s vision website.  After viewing the class work assignment our Professor asks us to focus on outside association and examine that region.  So, I followed a link National Children's Advocacy Center http://www. National Children's Advocacy Center

In 1985, Former Congressman Robert E. "Bud" Cramer (Alabama ), who was then District Attorney, organized an effort to create a better system to help abused children. As an educator I myself personally believe this a great resource to add to you library and I know it is a great resource for all educators, program director, children and their families. The NCAC models, promotes, and delivers excellence in child abuse response and prevention through service, education, and leadership. I enjoyed exploring this site and they have a lot to offer to educators children and their families. This organization is actual supportive. For example, this leader in the fight against child abuse began simply: a community who wanted a better way to help young victims of sexual abuse.I had gained new insights into the children’s’ lives and see how many of these children our effective by all this abuse that each experience.  The children have gone through great suffering and a lot of them experience so much psychological issues. As educators what can we do to better help these children that are being an abuse at a young age? I will wait for a respond.
Have a bless week!

  2. Temika,
These resources are beyond valuable, as we fill the role of mandated reporters when working directly with young children. Have you personally experienced any situations where you have witnessed the affects of abuse? I have unfortunately come to find that in many early care settings, it is the teachers and caregivers that are providing young children with abusive experiences. With knowledge of how fragile the developing emotional system can be, I feel many adults do not realize how easy it is to cross the line of being appropriate and caring to being abusive.

  3. Temika,

I appreciate the insight about this website because I was not aware of any organizations out there that was pushing for better policies for abused children. I know we hear about it all the time but it seems like nothing really gets done on behalf of the child. Yes, people are arrested and given prison but it doesn't necessarily keep the person from hurting other children.
I have never witnessed a child suffering from abuse but I know of people who were abused as children who have talked about their childhood and how it affected them throughout childhood and even in adulthood. I will definitely research more information this website.
