Getting to Know Your International Contacts—Part 1

I had not being able to contact or receive any respond from anyone as of now, I will contact them on Tuesday and give you the update it is a little difficult to connect like you would like to, but I know I will have a chance to get some more information next week. I live in Los Angles, Ca Early Childhood professional in Sarah's Nest - Creche & Preschool.  Their purpose is a vibrant, warm and caring learning environment providing high quality for all children to feel secure.

Poverty in Lagos, Nigeria remains significant Nigeria has one of the world's highest economic growth rates averaging high level of poverty, with 63% living on below $1 daily, implying a decline in equity. Poverty in Nigeria can be also caused by the political instability of the country. However, these programs have largely failed to overcome the three reasons for this persistent poverty: instability , and  ethic conflict . Poverty in Nigeria is parallel to the USA. These children experience and fronting growing up in poverty and this is vital. The Nigerian government’s untended approach to its poor, who account for at least 70 percent of the population, was again on full display last Saturday at Bahia East, where even more demolition — another 40,000 live there — is now threatened. When children are expose to poverty they have so much to deal with. For example, children have to collect wood in a hot place just to make ends meet  lack of food, shelter and children may not have very much self-esteem.  It can have a huge toll on the family because there family have to make sure they can meet the need of their children some have two have two jobs just to maintain a roof over their head and some not able to work a second  job. Children are facing poverty it can also affect their grades. That why as educators we have to make sure we are treating every child with respect and compassion because we may be the only peace that they may have in their life. Nigeria has a welfare system to support families. Overall poverty remain prevalent in  Lagos ,Nigeria.

 The organization was UNICEF was created by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been In 1953, UNICEF became a permanent part of the United Nations System and its name was shortened from the original United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund but it has continued to be known by the popular acronym based on this previous title

I also discovered that this organization is also known as The United Nations Children's Fund which is an United Nations Program headquartered in New York City that provides long-term humanitarian and developmental assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. This organization is a member of the United Nations Development Group and part of its CEO Kaufman, M Conflict resolution- finding better ways to help these families and children. They also require the students to bring their parents to school to talk about poor behavior. Organization help assist parents to create child-friendly homes, learn that school culture can both promote or it can evolve with parent interaction..

 UNICEF organization's resources; private groups and some 6 million individuals contribute the rest through the National Committees. It is estimated that 91.8% of their revenue is distributed to Program Services UNICEF's programs emphasize developing community-level services to promote the health and well-being of children. The organization does have to meet the need of these children and their families’ emergency shelters, educational supplies, among others and approves programs and oversees administrative and financial plans. Identify one current issue/trend from the newsletter and/or from the website that caught your attention. What caught my eye is how this organization helps these children, and has provided emergency extra food and supplies and training for medical and health staff.  This organization has dealt with 140 million children in developing countries who did not attend primary school, about 60 percent were girls. Some 250 million children aged 5 to 14 work, half of them full time This is a huge concern and very difficult for me to imagine that children deal with such unfair circumstances around the world. I would like to share some more vital information that was shocking to me and a couple of issues The organization also focuses on helping to return former child soldiers (to their homes and reintegrate them into society through counseling and education. I have learned so much and was shocked with the information I have gained from reading this website. I am thankful that I have never experienced anything like this nor have I experienced this in US. This organization has try to help families and children in anyway that they can by supporting diversity and Conflict resolution- finding better ways to help these families and children

Share if there was anything else you learned from studying these resources related to the topic of this week.  I also learned that the UNICEF is also diversity focused which is one of the topics we discussed in our lesson for this week.  In developing countries, almost a third of children under age five are malnourished.  I myself thought that this was very informative an dynamic Approximately 250,000 children under age 18 served in armed conflicts in 1995 and 1996. 300,000 children have been killed or maimed by landmines since 1975.If you would like to learn more about this web site feel free to visit the link that I have provided for you. “MY SUPPORTS”

I am a lead preschool teacher I currently have two aides working with me in the classroom and who is very helpful to me. We all respect and care about each other in our own unique way. As a Lead teacher with all the responsibility I have without I’ll call them Lisa and Mitchell  I  don’t know what I would do if I did not have those to they have help me through good and bedtimes. Without my wonderful TA I would not know what I will do without them. We work together and I am so glad that we have respect for each other and very open with each other the best thing is that we are a diverse group and that what make it so beautiful. When I forget things they are always there to support me in any way that they can without a struggles; I just don’t have a wonderful staff but I have some amazing diverse group of parents they I care about and they care about me and we have built a mutual bond with each other so we can do what is best for their child. I am grateful they donate items to the class without me even asking and they surprise us with gifts just to show us how they appreciate us taking care of the children and how they are so happy to see the children progress in the classroom from day to day make them proud to say they have a group of wonderful teachers that      caring, patient and concern about each child education in the classroom. I am blessed and appreciate all that    they do for me and my staff.

I feel  secure when I don’t come to work, I have confidence in my TA that they will make sure things remain the same even without  me being  presence and I am happy to say that about  Lisa and Mitchell. As I mentioned I do not know what I would do without my two TA who means so much to me. If I did not have them in the classroom I do not know if I can continue to go through what I go through on a daily basis. For example, paper work, DRDP, ECRES and so on.  I would not be able to fulfill all my daily duties that we as teachers have to go through. I know the feeling without having that extra support and it is not fun, but if Lisa and Mitchell would not be with me I will be overwhelm and out of alignment so I said all that to say this it is vital to have support around you this will encourage you that the journey is not so bad after all. What I love about my TA, I have got to know them on a personal level and they are just as great on the outside and they do well working with me on the inside of the classroom is amazing.

I am so grateful to have God in my life he has care me along way and with five kids and one with special needs and I decide to continue my education I have to give him the glory because I would not be able to do all that I am doing in my own personal strength. I am grateful to have a wonderful person and my children to stand behind me as I continue on in my journey it is not always easy to come back to

When I was younger, my family members including my dad, brothers, cousins and mom supported play.  I always had the opportunity to move and play with my cousins and friends in the neighborhood. My parents and teachers helped structure and support my learning My learning was support by my parent in a loving and nurturing way My mom and teacher will support me  in all that I do  and to make sure that I am learning the skills to better  help me . My mom taught me good manners and these manners have helped me along my journey. I had very supported teacher to help me to reach my full potential and develop the skills I need to succeed in school. For example teaching me my ABC, social skills, number and phonics. did your parents In the past, these needs were met at home and in the community, but now these needs are being met in a classroom to help each child at his/ her place.

I feel that play is similar from when I growing up. For example, I use to play  kick ball, play with my doll house area, play with  Barbie’s  and I use to love to pretend play and take on the role as the mother in the house are my said and I really enjoyed the art area because I got a chance to use my own imagination. We as educators have to realize the important of play.  Play is still similar as a child. For example, when I see the children playing in the doll house, I am reminded of the time when I used to play in the house and act out different roles such as pretending to be the cook, mom, baby and sister. My hopes for play today include allowing children to be themselves and let them explore their world around them. I believe that educators should allow children to use their imaginations when interacting with peers and when they participate in small group time.

I feel play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth.  Play also gives parents an opportunity to engage fully with their children. Despite the benefits resulting from play for both children and parents, time for free play has been remarkable throughout my childhood. Throughout my life my parents always thought that play was vital for me because it was a time when I was able to express myself and be able to use my imagination and be creative. Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement. I like to thank you for wanting to see all of your students excel to their full potential.  I was honor to have you for a professor and I like to thank you for sharing your feedback and offering varieties of resources to help each student to continue on their journey at Walden University and as we continue to explore in Early Child Development.

The ending of this course is coming to an end. While I am very motivated about moving ahead on to the next class. I do feel the connection that has been formed amongst us during the course of this class; I have gained insightful information pertaining to the field of child development. I have greatly appreciated all the support and response from my classmates. I really enjoyed and reading discussion board and blogs from all my classmates every week and learned so much from you guys. The information and the resources have allowed me to learn new way of observing children and having a greater passion for my children that I work with and a better understanding when it comes to interacting with them.


I now developed a greater respect for my field of child developed. I pray that I was a help and supporter. I was able to provide some resources and material to my classmates. I pray that we will all continue to press forward toward this journey that’s before us and be able to use all the knowledge and resources we have gained from each other cannot believe this is the final week for class I have learned so much from you guys; I appreciate the support that each one of you has shared with me.  I was so grateful to be part of this amazing class. I received so much information that will last me a lifetime. You“guys” positive feedback and support you have shown me has been awesome in these last couple of weeks.  This class has help me in my field, and I was able to apply all that I have learned and now I am applying it to my life that all you guys have a bless year as you continue your journey.

This is an outstanding quote that extremely relates to our class work. We as educator and parents need to make sure we   our preparing children so that they are ready to continue a healthy positive journey into their adult hood. This quote reminds me as an educator and mom you are never too young to prepare children for their future.

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” For some we to train a child in a positive and healthy way. What this quote means we are to mold into form by correction and help our children to make wise decision as they grow into their adult. This is a quote I love because I am a mom of five and I was grateful to raise all my children in church and I was raised in church as well and I strayed away mom stood on this quote and I dedicated my life to God . This quote is related to our course work because over these lasted 8 week we have learned the importance as educator being an positive  example in front of our children so we can see them grow into healthy adults
